<p>Diffusion pack comprising a porous container enclosing a volatile reagent within an envelope which has to be punctured to release the reagent. A tubular container may be used holding a series of thin-walled ampoules which can be individually pricked, pref. by a two pronged fork which will hold the puncture open. Alternatively, the envelope may be a bottle contained within a block or bag of porous material. Pref. the envelope is made of polyvinyl or polyolefin resin inert to the content. The porous container is pref. made of compacted or baked earth, porcelain, wood, sponge, wool, fabric or open-pored polyether, polyester or polyurethane foam. Used for packing and dispensing volatile insecticides, perfumes, deodorants dissolved or dispensed in liquid media. Volatile losses are minimal until the internal envelope is punctured.</p> |
