Pressure sensitive resistor is produced by (a) forming a resistance by hot moulding conducting articles in the agglomerated state, the surfaces of the these particles being coated with an elastic resin and (b) fixing metallic electrodes to the resistance with an adhesive. Pref. the conducting particles are carbonaceous particles prepd. by carbonising and graphitising a thermosetting resin. The wt. ratio of conducting particles to elastic resin to 3/7 to 7/3. The metallic electrodes are mounted on the resistance with the aid of a pressure sensitive, conducting adhesive. Provides a stable pressure sensitive resistor with a weak hysteresis. Resistors can be produced with a wide range of resistances for a given mechanised strength.
|
