1289433 Milk substitute RALSTON PURINA CO 19 April 1971 [12 June 1970] 21843/ 71 Heading A2B An edible non-meaty plastic composition, suitable as a milk substitute for feeding young animals, comprises a dispersion of a proteinaceous material in a polyhydric alcohol matrix, preferably an aqueous solution of a polyhydric alcohol, such as propylene glycol, glycerol, or sorbitol. The proteinaceous material may be derived from milk or from vegetables, for example cottonseed, peanut, copra, safflower, or soybean. The composition may be prepared by mixing the constituents and subjecting to pressure to shape and plasticise, for example in an extruder. |
