1348847 Electro-chemical apparatus PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 19 April 1971 [25 March 1970] 24852/71 Heading G1N In apparatus for audibly reproducing electrophysiological signal voltages produced in the human body, e.g. electro-cardiogram voltages, an audio-frequency carrier wave derived from an oscillator 5 is frequency modulated in accordance with the strength of the signal voltages, a pulse generator 7 is responsive to the modulated carrier wave to provide audio-frequency pulses, a filter device 6 filters the pulses to produce a complex audio-frequency tone, the characteristics of the filter device being varied in accordance with the strength of the signal voltages to vary the frequency content of the tone, and a device 12 converts this tone into an audible sound. By selecting the characteristics of the devices 6 and 7, sounds simulating the human voice may be produced. As shown in Fig. 2, the apparatus may be contained in a portable case 13 with electrodes 1, 2, 3 protruding. The voltages may be pre-recorded. |
