PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary operation type electronic component that can reduce tilt of a rotor.SOLUTION: A rotary operation type electronic component includes a case 22 in which an annular groove portion 22A is formed, a rotor 23 having an annular flange portion 23A accommodated in the groove portion 22A, and a metal cover 24 covering the groove portion 22A. The rotor 23 includes a wall portion 23B which is formed at the outer peripheral portion of the flange portion 23A and protrudes in the opening direction of the groove portion 22A, and the upper surface of the wall portion 23B is regulated by the metal cover 24. With this configuration, the tilt of the rotor 23 can be reduced. In addition, the accuracy of the position of the rotor 23 can be improved.
