1352736 Railway system and trackway therefor DEMAG AG 22 Dec 1971 [14 Jan 1971] 59741/71 Heading B7L A trackway for use with both suspended and non-suspended vehicles powered by linear electric motors comprises a box-girder 1, 2b, 4b supported by brackets 12, flanges 2a and 4a whose end portions 2c, 4c define support rails for flanged wheels 6 of the non-suspended and suspended vehicles respectively, and channel sections 3a, 3b and 5a, 5b on which are mounted plates 7 and 7a which form the stator parts of the induction motors whereof the moving parts are windings 15 on the vehicles and which are engaged by stabilizing wheels 8 and 8a. Axially displaceable wheels 10 engage guide rails 9 mounted alongside the trackway to guide the vehicles through junctions. Current collectors 14 of the vehicles contact connector lines 13 on the trackway. The various webs and flanges of the trackway may be interconnected in different ways. |
