Base plate representing a landscape, of plastic foam material such as polystyrene foam, acts as base for models with parts having grooves and tenons with skin parts as assembly device. The assembly device is in the form of a stud with transverse ribs. The fixing piece has the form of a screw threaded rod cooperating with a plug into which it can be screwed in order to fix it in the plate. The plug has a body with an internal screw thread and bars extending longitudinally from the body and capable of being folded axially when the fixing piece is introduced into the body.
