Glazed clay pipe mfr - using part of pipe as burning ring which is part sever-ed prior to glazing by coplanar internal and external incisions

Mfr. of an integral pipe plus firing ring moulding in which prior to glazing, the two are partially sepd. The firing ring is used for gripping by the dipping mechanism for immersion into a glazing soln. and after glazing the remaining connection between the two is shattered. The sepn. between pipe and ring pref. consists of coplanar internal and external cuts into the integral components. The system permits the glaze application to be carried out by a simple one step dipping operation.
