Compsn for immersed disc brakes - contg. hydrocarbon and oil-sol. carboxylate of low-mol. amine, giving quieter, smoother action

Immersed disc brakes are in contact with a compsn. contg. a hydrocarbon and 0.1-5% of 1 or more oil-sol. salts of a carboxylic acid and a low-mol. amine. The brakes work less noisily and more smoothly than when surrounded by a lubricating oil or hydraulic fluid. The brakes are esp. used with heavy engines, e.g. in agricultural tractors.
