Micro-particle adsorbent columns suitable for high pressures, e.g. 1400 bars, can be prepd. rapidly in a simple, low-cost appts. giving consistently reproducible results. Excess solvent is centrifuge out of a whipped gel of micro particles and solvent contained in an inert tube which fits coaxially inside a metal sleeve provided with a loading funnel at the top and a solvent collecting chamber at the other end. Pref. the tube is made of transparent or translucent material such as quartz or glass. The tube is easily replaceable in the sleeve assembly.
