<p>A current collector rod, made of brass, copper or a Cu-Ni alloy, of an electric cell is welded to its end plate, made of nickel-plated steel, by forming a projection at the upper end of the rod which is pressed against the centre of the end plate. Current, stored in capacitors, is then passed through the point of contact until the metal of the projection has fused and been spread between end plate and a shoulder on the rod.</p> |
