Finely dispersed solids and suspended particles are removed from water in a filter tank through which the liquid passes in an upward direction. The sp-ent filter material is periodically partly discharged into the bottom, washed and recycled to the head of the tank. Filter and wash tank form a closed pressurized loop. |
