Transparent polyamides, for prodn. of injection-moulded articles which may be used at high temps., are prepd. from (a) a mixture of (i) 50-100, pref 65-100 mol % m-xylylene diamine and 50-0 pref 35-0 mol % p-xylylene diamine (based on total (i) components) and (ii) >=1 linear, aliphatic 2-20, pref 5-12C diamine and/or >=1 aliphatic 3-20 pref 6-12C diamine in which amino gps are separated from one another by 2-6 pref 5-6C atoms, and C chain between amino gps. may be substd by >=1 alkyl, esp. Me or Et gp., provided (i) + (ii) mixt contains 5-95 pref 20-70 mol% (ii) and (b) >=1 aromatic 6-20 pref 8-14C esp. 1-ring dicarboxylic acid carrying COOH in m- or p-posn., or a corresp deriv. |
