A fuel nozzle 28 opens at or adjacent the throat of the Venturi and air-flow through the member 20 is controlled by a valve 26. The valve 26 is operated by a diaphragm subject to the suction at a port 56 and begins to open at a suction corresponding to a certain opening of the valve 14, e.g. 40 degrees from the substantially closed position. A fuel metering rod 43 is connected to the valve 26 to increase the fuel supply through the jet 41 as the valve opens. An idling system may open to the passage 12 downstream of the valve 14.
