The tackle is particularly for handling bricks and stone blocks in building work, and incorporates two clamping jaws, each secured to a bar extending at right angles to its face. The bars hinge about axes at right angles to them, and one has a handle, on the opposite side of the hinge axis to the jaw, and extending towards the other jaw. The hinge of one jaw can be closer to it than the other, and a finger grip can be fitted to the bar below the handle. The bar secured to the other jaw can be in two parts, one incorporating the hinge and the other sliding and locking in relation to it, typically in the form of a tube with a series of holes in which a locking pin is fitted.
|
