Power generation is based particularly on the hydrogen produced by atomic reactors. It is more efficient to carry hydrogen to local generating stations than to transmit electrical power over a grid system. Power storage can be facilitated by the storage of hydrogen. Hydrogen, oxygen and water vapour are introduced into a combustion chamber in stoiometric proportions and the resulting energy transmitted via a heat exchanger to a series of turbines driving dynamos or alternators. A sensor measuring oxygen/hydrogen content of the low pressure output vapour controls the input of these gases to the combustion chamber. Water vapour from this source is also fed back to the chamber.
|
