<p>The bolt engages in the frame of the safe when locked. A shaft controls the movement of the bolt. Above and behind the door bolt is a locking bolt (19) which slides in a sleeve (17). On the top of the bolt (19) is a plate (21) to which is attached a spring (22). The other end of the spring is attached to the sleeve. Also attached to the plate is a nylon thread (24) which passes into the locking mechanism. When heat is applied the nylon stretches causing the locking bolt to engage. When an attempt is made to pick the lock the nylon is cut, thus locking the bolt.</p> |
