1483764 Burners INSTITUTUL DE CERCETARI METALURGICE 7 Oct 1974 [21 March 1974] 43313/74 Heading F4T A burner comprises a ceramic part 1 having a combustion chamber a, and an axial channel b connecting therewith, an elongate burner body 2 connected to part 1 with one of its ends in the channel, the body having a bore of varying cross-section, and a stabilizer 3 centrally disposed in the chamber whose external surface is of varying cross-section. Stabilizer 3 is fixed to body 2 by a cap 4 and gasket 6 and ceramic part 1 is detachably fixed to the body by an impact plate 7 and a gasket 10. One or more rows of radial orifices 0 are provided so that the gaseous fuel passes from the inside of stabilizer 3 and mixes with the combustion air to provide a divergent ring jet p of fuel/air mixture. A central jet V of gaseous fuel passes through a central axial orifice s. In a modification, subsidiary axial orifices (u) Fig. 5 (not shown) are provided, or the subsidiary orifices may replace the central orifice. In a further modification, the subsidiary orifices are disposed in a transverse plane and their axes may be parallel or slightly divergent Fig. 6 (not shown). The stabilizer and the combustion chamber may be of truncated pyramid, truncated cone, parallelipiped cylinder form, or combinations thereof Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown). |
