Novel compounds (includes acid addition salts and quaternary compounds) of the general formula wherein: (a) when X is -COOR<SP>1</SP>, R is a phenyl or cyclohexyl group and R<SP>1</SP> is -H, -CH 2 .CH 2 NR 2 (R is Me, Et or Pr<SP>1</SP>), -(CH 2 ) 3 N.Et 2 , -CR. (CH 3 ).CH 2 -NEt 2 , -CH 2 .C.(Me) 2 -CH 2 - NEt 2 ,1-methyl- (or -ethyl)-piperidyl-(3), piperidino - # - ethyl-, morpholino - Y - 2,2- dimethyl-propyl- or a radical of the general formula and (b) when X is -CH 2 -COOR<SP>1</SP>, R is phenyl and R<SP>1</SP> is -H or -(CH 2 -N(Et) 2 , are prepared: (a) by reacting 2-hydroxymethyl-cyclo-hexanone with a Grignard reagent and then oxidizing the product soformed; (b) by reacting the ethyl ester of cyclohexan-2-one acetic acid with a Grignard reagent and hydrolysing the y-lactone produced; (c) by reducing 2-phenyl-2-hydroxycyclohexane-carboxylic acid; (d) by reacting the potassium salt of a corresponding acid with an amino-alkyl-chloride and isolating the ester; (c) by esterifying a corresponding acid with an alkylene-dihalide and treating the resultant halo-ester with a secondary amine; or (f) by reacting a corresponding -γ-lactone with an ethylene halohydrin and reacting the resultant 2-halo-ester with an alkyl-amine. Pharmaceutical preparations having choleretic and antispastic action contain as active ingredient the above novel compounds and are suitably administered in the form of pills, syrups and tablets. |
