1465509 Bearings SIEMENS AG 22 Aug 1974 [23 Aug 1973] 37025/74 Heading F2A A magnetic assembly for a measuring instrument such as a galvanometer comprises a movable part mounted in bearings 6, 7 for turning about a vertical axis and means for producing a magnetic field for turning the movable part in dependence upon a parameter to be measured, the movable part including a member 9 made of soft magnetic material fixed in such manner that part of said magnetic field coacts with it to produce a force on the movable part, which force acts to oppose the load on the lower bearing 7. The movable part comprises a moving coil 3 situated in an air gap between a core magnet 1 and an iron return cylinder 2. The cylinder 2 is expanded beyond the lower face of the magnet 1 so as to produce stray lines of force 10 with a vertical component which acts upon the member 9. The bearings 6, 7 are jewel bearings. |
