A long flat bed rail vehicle has a portion or portions which can be raised or lowered, while supporting one or more of the carried vehicles. The lifting portion consists of two lifting elements and a transverse platform which can move vertically and be fixed firmly in different positions to suit the vehicles being carried. Horizontal movement of this platform can be by hand or power. The platform is supported partly by hinges to give adjustment for inclination to the horizontal. The lifting platform may be used to raise a vehicle over a second vehicle while further vehicles are placed on the bed of the rail vehicle. |
