<p>1366894 Cr - containing ferrous alloys M FELTZ 25 Aug 1971 [1 Sept 1970 (2)] 39911/71 Heading C7A A ferrous alloy comprising:- the balance, apart from incidental ingredients, such as Cu, Mn, Mo, Ni, Si, Ti, V or W, and impurities such as P or S, being Fe, in which %Cr - 8 x %C is in the range 11 to 16, is hardened from 1075‹ -1175‹ C to produce a metallographic structure consisting of primary chromium carbides in a ferrite-free matrix which includes a predominantly martensitic solid solution with 0À3-0À45%C and 14-18%Cr and possibly secondary carbides, the alloy having a hardness of at least 60Rc. The hardened alloy may be cooled (e.g. to as low as -180‹C). Use. Grinding members.</p> |
