This invention relates to new cephalosporin derivatives and methods for preparing the same, said derivatives having the structure WHEREIN Z is hydrogen, lower alkyl or a salt forming ion and R is aryl, substituted aryl, lower alkyl or cycloalkyl. These compounds are useful as antibacterial agents.
