<p>The galvanised metal sheets form a number of longitudinal channels. The sheets (7) are bolted or screwed together, and are supported within a surrounding metallic tubular frame. Angle iron supports (2) or C-section pieces with extended lips carry the platform at its edges, and inverted U-sections (6) or other supports run beneath the platform. The top surface of the platform is level with the sill of the entry door, and inclined plates in the channels at this end assist in cleaning the platform. Ring bolts for use in tying goods down on the platform are mounted in the channels, folding down below the top level when not in use to prevent obstructing goods being loaded.</p> |
