Cyclone separator for gases or liq. has the flow of medium set in a forced downward accelerated rotation about the central pipe by an outer power source, which also rotates the central shaft via a shaft which passes through it. Preferably the central pipe is open at the bottom end. The rotational motion of the medium is increased by a vane wheel at the mouth of the central pipe, on the end of the shaft. The outer surface of the central pipe has elevations which increase the rotational motion of the medium. Separating efficiency is increased.
