<p>The machine consists of a frame (1) on the front of which are mounted six pairs of digger discs (2) which are designed to deal with six rows of beat. Behind the discs are two horizontally rotating cleaning wheels. The pairs of discs are equi-distant from each other and from the centres of the cleaning wheels, there being three pairs of discs to one cleaning wheel. The discs are in the form of sections of a sphere with their convex sides facing each other, diverging at the front and converging at the bottom, and rotate freely by contact with the ground. The cleaning wheels comprise rims with curved spokes and turn in opposite directions.</p> |
