The rotary mouthpiece is for spraying viscous fluids of low calorific value, e.g. industrial waste, during combustion, and is mounted on the end of a hollow shaft rotating in the housing and to which the fluid is delivered, while air is introduced via a circular passage enclosing the mouthpiece. Rotary blades (12) are mounted in the air passage where diameter is least (11) and their pitch can be varied to regulate the quantity of combustion air. They also induce a swirl in the air flow in the opposite direction to that in which the mouthpiece (10) rotates. The blades can be curved in the direction of the air swirl. The air passage can be composed of a series of tapered duct sections joined together to form a smooth profile for the first part of the circular venturi tube.
