Rough lumps of Cu in a vertical melting chamber are surrounded by two currents of hot gas, i.e. one from primary combustion in the presence of sufficient O2 to burn all the fuel in a chamber for recieving and holding molten Cu and which is disposed contiguously to the base of the melting chamber; and a second current engendered directly in the melting chamber by a secondary combustion using less O2.
|
