Reference electrode for fluid ion conc. measurement - has plastics coated diaphragm with more uniform diffusion potential

The reference electrode comprises a sheath filled with an electrolyte in which a measuring electrode is immersed, whereby the sheath is fitted with a diaphragm which closes the electrical circuit. The diaphragm is provided with a coating of fluorinated plastics material. The sheath may be a double-walled tube forming part of the flow passage for the medium being measured or may be in the form of a rod. The diaphragm may be e.g. of ceramic material coated with PTFE.
