Radially-adjustable former for large transformer coil-winders - has separately adjustable box elements of two U-shaped rails

The radially adjustable former, for devices that wind large transformer coils, has box elements distributed around its circumference. Each box element consists of two U-shaped rails, the one fitting inside the other to form a long closed box structure. The inner U-rail is stationary and has two pairs of sloping slots cut into its sides. Two rods are fixed at their ends to the insides of the outer movable U-rail. The rods are linked to a screw drive that causes the movable U-rail to slide axially w.r.t. the fixed U-rail and therefore, because of the rods, to move upwards along the sloping slots, e.e. radially outwards w.r.t. the coil former.
