<p>Annealing hood for insertion in an annealing furnace has a carrier structure made of loosely interconnected components, with a protective jacket loosely fastened on it. Preferably the jacket can be set on the structure, or suspended from it. The structure consists of a solid-wall side support with a hollow profile and roof beams suspendable in the side supports, fitted on a foot frame. The side supports are reinforced by longitudinal stiffeners when free-standing, and have a box profile which tapers towards the support foot, with a support for the roof beams. The hood is free from deformation and has a long life, even under high thermal and chemical stress, and metallurgical changes.</p> |
