<p>1397235 Battery with cooling system ELTRA CORP 4 Feb 1974 [5 Feb 1973] 05071/74 Heading H1B A lead-acid battery comprises a number of self-contained individual cells each having a ease 16, terminals 12A, 13A, and a cover 18, positioned in a common metal box 26 sealed at the top by self-hardening resin E such as polyurethane. Fig. 2 shows the battery before the resin E is applied. The terminals 12A, 13A of the end cells are connected to battery posts 28, 30 and the cells are connected in series by short connectors 32 and long connectors 34. Each post, such a post 28, includes a metal tube 28D with end nipples 28E. Similarly, each connector 32 has a tube 32A with end nipples and similarly for the connectors 34. The nipples of the posts and connectors are connected by elastomer tubing 36 to form a continuous passage through which a cooling liquid may be pumped.</p> |
