1397169 Trifluoromethyl phenyl piperazine derivatives E BOUCHARA 20 Sept 1973 [29 Sept 1972] 44204/73 Heading C2C Novel compounds of Formula (I) in which A denotes: -CH 2 OR<SP>1</SP>, (R<SP>1</SP> being H, C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl, phenyl- C 1-6 alkyl, acyl or optionally substituted carbamoyl), -COOR<SP>2</SP> (R<SP>2</SP> being H, C 1-6 alkyl, C 2-6 alkenyl, C 2-6 alkynyl or phenyl-C 1-6 alkyl), or -CONR<SP>3</SP>R<SP>4</SP> (R<SP>3</SP> and R<SP>4</SP> denoting; independently H, C 1-6 alkyl, C 5-7 cycloalkyl or NR<SP>3</SP>R<SP>4</SP> denoting a 5-7 membered heterocyclic ring optionally carrying as a second heteroatom an oxygen or nitrogen atom, which latter may carry a C 1-6 alkyl or m-trifluoromethylphenyl radical), and their salts with non-toxic acids and bases, may be obtained by reaction of 1-mtrifluoromethylphenyl-piperazine with a C 1-6 alkyl methacrylate to form a compound in which A is -COO C 1-6 alkyl, and optionally converting this ester to other compounds of Formula I by conventional methods. Pharmaceutical compositions having analgesic, anti-inflammatory or anorectic properties, comprise compounds of Formula I together with a therapeutically acceptable vehicle in forms suitable for oral, transcutaneous, rectal or topical application.
