<p>The oscillating seal (9) automatically controlled by the piston (4) ensures, without the use of any intermediate component, a constant seal between the suction and delivery sides of the pump (6, 7) giving permanent contact between the seal lips (10, 11) and the piston, whatever the ratio between the elippse major and minor axes. The components forming the seal are themselves rigid. The seal can consist of two or more rigid components of semicylindrical shape, of a diameter equal to the side of a square inscribed in the ellipse, and supported between the piston and the housing wall on an axis outside the seal. One component pivots on this axis and the other on the first component near to it, being joined to it by a spring.</p> |
