<p>1470330 Preparation of derivative of antibiotic XK-62-2 KYOWA HAKKO KOGYO CO Ltd and ABBOT LABORATORIES 12 Dec 1974 [12 Dec 1973] 53781/74 Heading C2C The antibiotic I or a non-toxic salt thereof, is prepared by (i) reacting an antibiotic II with an acylating reagent of formula CH 3 OCOR 3 , C 2 H 5 OCOR 3 , R 4 CH 2 COR 3 or R 4 CH 2 COOH (in which R 1 and R 2 are each H, OH, NO 2 , Cl, Br, I, 1-5C alkyl or 1-5C alkoxy; R 3 is Cl, Br or I and R 4 is H, Cl, Br or I) to give a protected amino compound III (in which Y 1 , when taken separately, is H and Y 2 is a group of formula CH 3 OCO-, C 2 H 5 OCO- or R 4 CH 2 CO-; or Y 1 and Y 2 together represent phthaloyl); (ii) reacting the compound III with an acylating agent of formula (in which Z is Cl, Br, I, OH or a group of formula to produce a compound IV and (iii) removing the protecting groups from the compound IV to give the compound I and optionally forming a salt derivative.</p> |
