Hexagonal-plan ceiling structure element - with centre column under independent capital and diagonal cantilever arms

The whole structural element comprises a polygonal, pref. hexagonal, ceiling surface element and a support structure. At the top of the central column or support pref. on a shoulder, is a capital in the form of an independent unit, and cantilevered arms lying in the diagonals of the polygon are set onto this, also pref. on shoulders, again as independent units, the ends of every two cantilevered arms supporting an edge beam. The inner ends of the arms may have steel plates for welding to a plate on the capital. Capital, cantilevered arms and edge beams may be of reinforced concrete. The column may incorporate a channel for rainwater. The number of supports needed is greatly reduced, and assembly can take place regardless of weather conditions.
