<p>Work is transferred automatically and several stations are used to allow full production capacity to be used. Chains (56) have fixtures (54) mounted between them; comprising a lower fixed pair (131) of free running rollers and an upper pair (53), movable (55) and spring loaded (58), to grip the stem (12) of the ampoule. These are stepped intermittently from station to station and ampoules are purged, heat sealed (115, 116, 117, 121) and removed from the waste stem (12) by jaws (125, 126) advancing along frame (93, 94, 95, 96) and gripping the ampoule as it is rotated by a friction roller assembly (97, 104, 105, 106, 107) and heat softened (80).</p> |
