The auto-locking compass ie radius arm is for an oscillating or swinging door. The door is capable of pivoting about a vertical edge or oscillating, and is of economic design and embodies a major arm which connects from casement to opening frame. The arm auto locks to the casement by virtue of the inter fitment of two complementary toothed and inclined units (20, 21). The latter are fixed to the door head (9) and the former to the lower face (19) of the major arm (2) of the compass (1). The force maintaining these units together is sufficient to maintain the compass locked during side-hinging door usage.
