<p>A swirl-type flow meter has been designed for a wider measuring range, which can be calibrated, by making the boundary layer thickness independent of the Reynolds number. This makes it possible to determine its calibration constant for small Reynolds numbers, where its validity is maintained for large Reynolds numbers. The inside wall of the measuring tube, fitted with a swirling device with deflector vanes, has a serrated surface up to the measuring probe. The serrated surface, which is also applied to the vanes, has corrugations at right angles to the flow direction and the ratio of the serration depth to the clear diameter is 300 max.</p> |
