Selection system for HV power transformer tappings - has phase contacts arranged in rows and shielding electrode

Selector for high voltage transformer tappings in poly-phase power transmission allowing a minimum of distance between the contacts. The fixed contacts are arranged in rows above each other with a fair size gap between the rows. The contacts belonging to one phase have the even numbered ones in one plane and the uneven numbered ones in a different plane. Contacts adjacent to each other with a high potential difference are shielded by control electrodes. They are connected to an end of a winding whose potential lies between that of the two contacts with the high potential difference. The tappings of the windings are used as the joints.
