PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform fixation control according to a difference in thickness of a belt without providing a special device for specifying the thickness of a belt.SOLUTION: A control part of an image forming apparatus executes: heating processing of executing stop heating of causing a heating part to generate heat while stopping a backup member, and rotation heating of causing the heating part to generate heat while causing a driving part to rotate the backup member; and fixation controls different from each other according to whether the relative relationship between a stop heating gradient and a rotation heating gradient satisfies a predetermined condition, the stop heating gradient being a gradient of a change in detected temperature based on a signal from a temperature sensor during the execution of the stop heating, and the rotation heating gradient being a gradient of a change in detected temperature based on a signal from the temperature sensor during the execution of the rotation heating.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6 |
