PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a more easy-to-use hearing apparatus.MEANS FOR SOLVING THE PROBLEM: A recess of a small level difference is provided in the surface of the housing of a hearing apparatus, so that the vibration surface of a cartilage conduction vibration part is located on the bottom surface of the recess. The cartilage conduction vibration part is constituted of a piezoelectric bimorph element, and is protected against external collision by the recess of a small level difference. A protective layer is provided on the vibration surface, and the cartilage conduction vibration part is in contact with the ear cartilage via the protective layer. The surface of the protective layer is arranged lower than the housing surface in the recess. The protective layer consists of an elastic body. The hearing apparatus is a portable telephone, and the recess is provided in the side face of the hearing apparatus.
