Ski binding permitting release of the skier's boot from the binding when the skier meets an obstacle producing forces greater than a pre-determined size. The boot connecting parts are fitted in front of the heel of the boot and behind the toe section and are formed by pin and cover links with the former having a detachable fitting on the ski and with the latter connected to the boot through locking devices forming a part of the pin and cover link for a compulsory movement upon contact. There are a number of symmetrically arranged passages directed outwards with the locking device having the same number of rigidly held first locking links as there are second locking links capable of at least partial angular movement.
