Inductor for the magnetic impulse stamping of plati(um workpices contains an electrically conductive cylindrical housings with a winding in its radial annular groove. One front face serves to be arranged close to the plate to be machined. There are radial bores in the housing body on the side opposite to the freont face arranged close to the work. These bores are connected with the adjacent front face by means of slots. There are further bores in the central zone of the housing to balance and regulate the deformation forces on the front face.
