The machine brings together and joins two or more strips of material as they pass through it, being particularly for enclosing data etc. for mailing in large quantities, one of the strips having pressure-sensitive adhesive in a pattern on one side. A heater section is mounted between the inlet and outlet of the machine, and the inlet section incorporates a unit bringing the strips together so as to lie one on top of the other. They are then transported together through the heater section, and at the outlet a pair of rollers are driven at a speed higher than that at which the strip travels. These exert the necessary gluing pressure on the strips, and means are provided for cooling the strips once glued.
