1402370 Mixing apparatus W LODIGE and J LUCKE 20 March 1973 [22 March 1972] 13236/73 Heading B1C A mixing tool 11 for cooperation with the wall 12 of a mixing drum is in the form of a V having two legs 19, 20 through which heat exchange fluid may be passed, and is supported from a hollow shaft 10. Through which the fluid is supplied and withdrawn. As shown the tool is supported by three hollow arms 16, 17, 18 and its clearance from the drum well is adjustable by means of an exchangeable packing piece 21a. The V has a nose-piece 30 which is offset to one side to urge the material towards the members 17, 18, 19, 20. In a modification (Figs 3 and 4, not shown) the arms 17, 18 join the arm 16 near the shaft, to which the tool is attached by a screw thread affording means for adjusting the clearance. In a further modification (not depicted) the arms 17, 18 may be eliminated and the ends of the legs 19, 20 connected by another member. There may be a plurality of diametrically oppositely arranged tools on the shaft. The quantity of material in the apparatus may be controlled by weighting the discharge door or controlling it by the current consumption of the motor. The tool is applicable to an apparatus for mixing glue and wood shavings.
