<p>The vehicle transmission is controlled by a gear lever with a two part gate for the four gear ratios in the main gear box. A group gear box is fitted to give high and low gear ranges, and this is controlled pneumatically or hydraulically from the a special lever. A speed control is fitted which operates blocking controls to prevent the group gear box being changed from high to low above a set speed. The control is further improved by blocking the movement from one part of the gate to the other above another set speed. This provides a fail-safe facility to protect the gear box.</p> |
