1403056 Bearings BABCOCK & WILCOX CO 20 Nov 1972 [21 Dec 1971] 53444/72 Heading F2A [Also in Division F4] Bearings linking a heat exchanger 10 to a support structure (see Division F4) each comprise a pin 36 projecting from the heat exchanger which can pivot within a bearing block 27 and lubricated bearing plates 43, 44 carried by the support framework which allows only movement of each block along one axis. As shown in Fig. 4, the block can move in an up and down direction between the bearing plates but in other forms of the bearing (Fig. 5, not shown) the block is contained to move from side to side. In still further forms of bearing the bearing blocks are allowed no movement but the pin can move axially within the block. Upper and lower sets of bearings are provided on the heat exchanger-the upper bearings allow movement only along the vertical axis, and the lower bearings allow movement only along an axis perpendicular to the vertical axis. |
