PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device of a field sequential type, which can achieve a peaking function to display just the outline of an object as a color image in a black-and-white image.SOLUTION: A black-and-white display mode for displaying a black-and-white image and a color display mode for displaying a color image are provided. In one of the black-and-white display mode and the color display mode, a first image is displayed. In the other of the black-and-white display mode and the color display mode, a second image, which is formed by extracting just a part (outline of an object) of the first image, is displayed at a timing deviated from the timing of the first image. Thus, a synthesis image formed by the visually overlapping between the first image and the second image is displayed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
