In a first embodiment, Fig. 15, the connection is a bayonet coupling: bayonet pin 226 is advanced through a slot (232), Fig. 9 (not shown) against spring bias 246, and is then rotated, upon rotation of a shaft 260 carrying an eccentric cam 262 and a sleeve 264 slotted to receive a ball arm 252. Rotation of the shaft 260 is accomplished by a solenoid-actuated mechanism, Figs. 17-20 (not shown) which also serves initially to position actuator coil 222. In a second embodiment, Figs. 23, 25, the connection is made by a collet device, wherein mating members 346, 348 are secured together by a collet 336 contracted thereabout by a spring-loaded cam sleeve 356. The sleeve 356 is disengaged by an assembly 328 including rollers 335, 368 which are moved together on actuation 418 of a solenoid.
